Our artist arrives an hour early to prepare. Throughout your event, guests stop by for a quick photo reference, then receive an exquisite, impressionistic portrait rendered in watercolor. Each artist completes approximately 10 portraits per hour. Finished pieces are displayed in protective sleeves for guests to collect as they depart.

Do you travel to Vail, CO?
When do we receive the finished artwork?
Watercolor guest portraits are created on-site and guests take them home during the event. For live wedding paintings, we aim for a reception reveal whenever possible; if final detailing or varnishing is needed, we complete it in the studio and ship it to you!
Yes. Vail is about a 5-hour drive from Durango and one of our favorite Colorado mountain destinations. Travel is quoted based on your date, venue access, and lodging needs.
Can you paint outdoors in mountain weather?
Most portraits take about 5–8 minutes each. We’ll recommend the best coverage/package based on your guest count and the length of your event.
Yes. We plan for shifting light, wind, and temperature changes, and we coordinate placement and timing with your planner so everything stays smooth.

Yes. We coordinate directly with your planner (and venue as needed) on arrival time, setup location, and timeline so the experience feels effortless from start to finish.
What is your favorite thing to do in Vail?
I love to ski, so this one’s easy. I also love walking around town, popping into the cute shops, and soaking up the European ski-town feel.
Process
My easel will be set up off to the side, in a spot that allows me to fully capture the venue/event while still being able to engage with guests. My painting process involves starting big, abstract, and adding layers. With each layer the piece becomes alive and more detailed. As guests fill the space, I begin to move colors around the painting. With time, the image begins to emerge. It takes about four to five hours to complete the painting with significant detail. Each venue and event is special and therefore no two paintings look alike. Generally, the piece is completed by the end of the event. Occasionally. I'll take it back to my studio to put on finishing touches or add a protective varnish over the artwork.
